Premier Bank Honored Nationally for Green Leaf Award
DUBUQUE, Iowa – BankNews, the leading independent publication for community banks nationwide, has announced the winners of the 2012 GreenLeaf Award, an honor that recognizes financial institutions nationwide for improving their communities through cooperation and participation in environmental programs and civic projects. The award covers three primary areas: staff involvement, bank services and technology, and environmental participation.
Premier Bank is this year’s winner in theless than $500 million in assets category. Premier Bank has spent hundreds of hours re-engineering its policies, procedures, workflow and choice of suppliers to minimize its environmental impact by maximizing its reduction in use of natural resources. The $250 million asset bank received Petal Project certification in 2012, which at the time of this award had been bestowed ononly four local businesses in Dubuque, Iowa.
Also winning a Green Leaf Award isBoston-based Eastern Bank in the more than $500 million in assets category. Eastern Bank has four U.S. Green Building Council LEED-registered branches — more than any other bank in Massachusetts.
