Financial institutions and police are warning people about a bank card scam in the area.

The scam begins with a phone call that sometimes has an automated voice.

The phone call tells customers their debit card has been blocked and then asks for the customer's 16-digit card number to unblock their card.

Scam calls are often made to look legitimate, even on your caller ID.

Some of the phone calls say they are Bank of America, Wells Fargo, or the like credit or debit cards, even if the customer does not have a card from these institutions.

As a reminder, Premier Bank will NEVER ask for your card number over the phone.

If you receive one of these phone calls, simply hang up. If you have any questions, please contact us at 563-588-1000 or info@premierbanking.com
