We have become awareof a fraudulent scam in which the local public is receiving telephone callsfrom a fraudulent caller claiming to be associated with issuing Medicare/Medicaid cards. The fraudster states to the caller that in order to reissue a new insurance card they need to confirm some information including checking account number, bank routing number, and other personal CONFIDENTIAL information. Be assured this is a total fraud. If you receive such a call, immediately hang up on the caller and contact local law enforcement.

If you have provided banking or other personal information to one of these callers, immediately contact your local financial institution for further assistance.

We have become aware of a fraudulent attack in which the public is receiving telephone calls from an automated system claiming there is a problem with their card or account, and to press 1 to speak to customer service. Upon pressing 1, personal card or account information is requested. Please refrain from ever giving this type of information to anyone over the phone. If you receive a call like this, please hang up.
